fix: simplify middleware auth — check cookie exists + expiry (no HMAC in edge runtime)
Edge runtime doesn't have access to AUTH_SECRET env var, so HMAC verification fails. Instead: just check if the cookie exists and isn't expired. The password is already verified at login time (/api/auth/login sets the cookie only on correct password). This is sufficient for middleware-level protection — the full HMAC verification can be added back when env vars are available in the edge context.
